Interim Group Financial Controller (12-month Contract)

Salary: £90k – £110k + Bonus

Location: Bristol

We’re looking for someone with natural and intuitive leadership ability, superb interpersonal skills and an ability to engage and influence at all levels across a business.

Do you have exceptional levels of technical accounting experience including the production of IFRS-compliant financial statements?

We have an exciting Contract opportunity for an experienced Group Financial Controller to be responsible for all aspects of financial management and deliver high-profile and complex projects.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the role will require a strong understanding of accounting standards (IFRS), proven experience in managing and developing teams, working alongside external stakeholders, and experience working on change management projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Leading a small team during a period of change, interacting with out-of-country colleagues and working closely with senior peers and the board of directors.
  • Ownership of group and subsidiary accounting policies, financial statements, and tax filings in the UK and overseas
  • External reporting, including drafting of board packs, drafting of the annual report and investor presentations for investors and lenders.
  • Monthly production of statutory balance sheet, P&L and Cashflow reconciliations.
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Overall control and direct management of the financial accounting team.
  • Statutory Accounts and Audit process.
  • Group Treasury function, including covenants reporting, funding requirements, cashflow and foreign exchange management/strategies and banking governance.
  • Development of a group finance function, including group reporting, management reporting, tax and treasury and also FP&A
  • Support strategic ambitions which could involve support on M&A activities.
  • Production of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements and subsidiary accounts and accurate tax reporting
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to Senior Management by assimilating data into meaningful financial information.
  • Comprehensive Risk Management reporting.
  • Cash flow management
  • Working with the Shared Service teams to ensure reporting and output is efficient and of a high quality.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant – 5+ years PQE, ACA/ACCA
  • Experience with managing transactional teams, general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Experience of leading and developing teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to influence and engage with a variety of stakeholder levels
  • Experience with creating annual report and investor presentations.
  • Attention to detail
  • Resilient and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages, knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics desirable
  • Exceptional levels of technical accounting knowledge and procedures, specifically IFRS and FRS
  • Detailed understanding of Tax, Treasury and FX management within a Global Company
  • Understanding of larger and complex business structures and international groups
  • Track record of operating at FC or similar level within an international business setting.
