Following on from our first video in the series, in conversation with James Caan, this week’s video shows Helen and James discussing hiring for growth, specifically for SMEs.
In 2017, serial entrepreneur James Caan CBE was named as LinkedIn’s second most influential voice. Helen took the opportunity to draw on his wisdom and asked James what his biggest piece of advice was for SMEs when hiring for growth.
James said “I think when the business is hiring, the key thing is not to fill vacancies but to hire talent. I think sometimes, as small businesses, we become obsessed with filling boxes, but businesses really grow because of talent, and sometimes you meet the talent that may not directly fit into the box that you had, but they could impact your business”.
Hiring top talent is critical to the success of any business. Game-changing talent and a strong team are key to attaining and exceeding business goals.
