THE BRIEF

Our brief was to identify and attract an exceptionally talented IT Director with considerable manufacturing experience. Our client had enjoyed a number of years of steady growth and now required a leader who would be fit for the current and future organisation.

The business therefore needed to appoint an individual who could bring an increased level of rigour, discipline and commercial focus, without diluting the entrepreneurial approach, which had originally made the business successful.

THE PROCESS

We met with the acting Managing Director of the business to understand the historical background of the previous IT Lead and the key disciplines and outcomes required for a new Technical Director. As the hire was a fairly immediate appointment, King Recruit considered interim and permanent individuals both from our highly developed database and our own network. We were able to identify a small short-list of talented individuals from recommendation and from our own targeting.

The King Executive Method, our bespoke 4-step leadership assessment programme was applied to the search to ensure rigour in our approach.

THE RESULT

This was led by our client’s immediate requirements. An Interim IT Director was selected. Since this appointment, the IT Director has been successful in securing a permanent position within the business and continues to add significant value to the organization.

They are also now an active board member.

The whole process from start to finish was fairly rapid and took 4 weeks.
